Behind the Beans
Protozoa is a blend of Regenerative Organic Certified beans from San Juan Rio de Coco, Nicaragua, and biodynamic coffee from Tolima, Colombia. We are proud to partner with Equation’s Soil Revolution Fund, which reinvests 5¢ of every pound of coffee we purchase back into technical support to help small-scale farmers in Colombia promote soil regeneration by intercropping coffee plants with beans to fix nitrogen in the soil, establishing vermicompost systems to replace chemical fertilizers, and planting native shade trees
